Latin American Ambassadors from 8 countries Inaugural visit to ITIS Control Centre co-organised by InvestKL and PEMUDAH DBKL Task Force

Kuala Lumpur, 24 October 2017 - InvestKL, in collaboration with DBKL (Kuala Lumpur City Hall), today organised a visit to Integrated Transport Management Centre (ITIS) ControlCentre for Latin American Ambassadors to Malaysia. Representing the Kuala Lumpur City Hall was Datuk Hj Mahadi Che Ngah, Executive Director of Project Managmement of DBKL. Together with InvestKL CEO Datuk Zainal Amanshah, they hosted the Ambassadors from a total of 8 Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Cuba.

The Latin American entourage were taken for a tour and demonstration of the ITIS Control Centre led by Dato’ Pardip Kumar Kekreja, a member of the PEMUDAH DBKL Task Force. The ITIS Control Centre in Bukit Jalil showed live traffic conditions in Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas.

“The Integrated Transportation Information System (ITIS) is a an effective and sustainable means of managing Greater KL’s transport infrastructure by using the latest in information management technology to assist motorists in making the most appropriate decisions about their travel by gathering and sharing accurate and up-to-date information about road traffic conditions.”, said Datuk Haji Mahadi Bin C. Ngah from DBKL.

InvestKL CEO Datuk Zainal Amanshahadded that a commuter-friendly system such as ITIS enables Kuala Lumpur residents and expats alike to experience smoother and conducive journeys when driving within Greater KL This allows them to fully explore the liveability aspect that the city has to offer with ease.

“Kuala Lumpur is not only famous for the various landmarks, nightlife and shopping centres, the city is also a safe city with lots of hidden gems and natural green spaces such as the Bukit Jalil International Gardens, KLCC park, Lake Gardens etc. which are well enjoyed facilities by the locals and expats alike”.

After enjoying a tour and explanation of ITIS, the Ambassadors were also brought along on a leisurely stroll in the nearby Bukit Jalil International Gardens where they were greeted with ‘mini gardens’ inspired by other countries.
