KUALA LUMPUR, 28 AUGUST 2025: Malaysia recorded a total of 1,490 projects with realised investments worth RM188.5 billion over the past two years.

Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said these investments, between 2023 and 2024, had created 123,729 new job opportunities.

He said this in response to a question from Senator Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz in Dewan Negara, who had asked about the value of realised investments in 2023 and 2024.

Domestic investments contributed RM32.8 billion, while foreign investments accounted for about RM155.7 billion.

Tengku Zafrul said the annual project implementation performance showed that more than 85 per cent of manufacturing projects approved in 2023 had been executed, while almost 65 per cent of projects approved last year had reached the implementation stage.

"This is an encouraging performance, considering that the implementation of approved projects typically takes between 18 and 24 months, depending on the complexity, scale of the project, and prevailing economic conditions," he said.
