Strategy And Consulting Department

The Strategy and Consulting Team provides strategic information and direct support for InvestKL’s engagement activities with large multinational companies. The team is responsible for providing potential investors with the complete framework of Malaysia’s fiscal and non-fiscal incentives and a cohesive business entry strategy into Kuala Lumpur. The Strategy and Consulting Team comprises three divisions, namely Research, Consultancy and Alliances.

Position – Analyst In Consultancy

Responsibilities:

  • To collate financial and commercial information from multiple sources to formulate investment, financial and business strategies for investor engagement
  • To match existing incentives to the specific needs of investors and assist them with their business proposals
  • To liaise with the relevant agencies and authorities to facilitate the approval of these proposals and assist in the preparation of cost benefit analysis papers

Requirements:

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Team player with leadership skills and a positive work attitude
  • Ability to be flexible while maintaining the highest professional standards
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Education:

  • Tertiary education in Economics, Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Professional qualifications preferred

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Investor Relations Department

Position – Director, Investor Relations

We are seeking suitable candidates to undertake the role of Investor Liaison, from prospecting, facilitating, understanding investor requirements and solution selling to closure.

Responsibilities:

  • To spearhead investor attraction activities within the specified region in the area of prospecting, deal closure, presentation, marketing programme and strategic alliance activities
  • To effectively communicate and engage with decision makers of large corporations and multinationals on choosing the right location for their regional operations
  • To work with various government agencies and leverage on internal resources to deliver the best possible investor-orientated plan that will bring great economic benefits to both investors and the country via GDP growth
  • To work with the Investor Services team to facilitate pre- and post-investment related activities
  • To prepare weekly/monthly reports for the CEO and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Outgoing and pleasant personality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Goal-oriented, proactive and resourceful
  • Able to work under pressure independently
  • Passionate about serving the country and helping transform the Malaysian economy into a high-income one
  • Strong 'Solution Selling' ability (relevant past experience required)
  • Investment banking/management consulting background is a strong plus
  • Ability to speak Mandarin or Japanese will be an added advantage

Education:

  • Qualifications in any discipline, preferably law, accounting or engineering
  • An MBA will be an added advantage

Work Experience:

  • Candidates should have held the position of Senior Manager or Director for a minimum of 7 or 10 years respectively

Communications and Alliances Department

Position – Senior Executive, Marketing And Communications

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and implement InvestKL’s marketing and communication activities
  • To write and prepare proposals to initiate InvestKL projects
  • To follow up on the development process of jobs from start to finish, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met
  • To ensure high quality control and branding guidelines are adhered to for all InvestKL communication materials
  • To effectively manage departmental budget including media spending and expenses
  • To learn and adapt quickly to market changes and requirements, continuously challenging the status quo in order to improve professional standards

Requirements:

  • Independent with a positive attitude and an ability to handle pressure
  • Strategic thinker with an insatiable desire to excel
  • Able to demonstrate creativity and a flair for new ideas
  • Exceptional organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills, outgoing personality and team player
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Computer literate in MS
  • Possess own transport

Education:

  • Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing, Advertising/Media, Mass Communications or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' related working experience

Position – Senior Manager, Marketing And Communications

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and oversee daily activities related to Brand Management for InvestKL
  • To plan activities including strategy and creative directions that are geared towards long-term brand recognition for InvestKL
  • To effectively brand and position Kuala Lumpur as a ‘hub’ for MNCs to grow in Asia
  • To manage media projects including press releases, media advisories, announcements and other public relations activities
  • To develop, manage, and maintain all online communication vehicles including the website, emails and online social media
  • To oversee the production of printed and online communication materials for internal and external marketing communications initiatives
  • To oversee the implementation of directions and input for the InvestKL brand, style guides and overall image of Greater Kuala Lumpur

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, dynamic and results-oriented with good work ethics
  • Able to work with minimum supervision in a challenging and fast-changing environment
  • Team leader and team player
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English
  • Computer literate in MS
  • Possess own transport

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing, Mass Communications or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Solid background in brand communications with a proven ability to execute brand communications in a multinational company
  • Minimum 9 years’ working experience in a related field
