    Datuk Zainal Amanshah was appointed Chief Executive Office of InvestKL in 2011. InvestKL is tasked by the Malaysian Government to attract 100 of the world’s largest multinationals to invest in the Greater Kuala Lumpur by 2020.

    With more than 22 years of experience in the private sector and 6 years in the government sector, Datuk Zainal has held senior positions in multinationals, Malaysian companies, start-ups and now, InvestKL. Prior to joining InvestKL, he was the Group CEO of REDtone, a Malaysian public listed telecommunications provider. He was also one of the company’s founders. 

    In the course of his career, Datuk Zainal has familiarised himself with many industries such as banking, insurance, oil & gas, automotive and manufacturing. He is also well versed with the public sector, especially with regards to foreign investment. He sits in the Investment Committee under MITI and PEMANDU Associates, the Greater KL Steering Committee and Pemudah–DBKL Steering Committee.

    Datuk Zainal graduated with Bachelor of Science (Electronic Engineering) from the University of Kent, United Kingdom in 1989. He has attended several Executive Programs, namely the Harvard Premier Business Management Program Malaysia in 2007 and the Wharton School of Finance Program in Malaysia. He is a member of Vistage Malaysia, a premier CEO development organisation, the KLBC (Kuala Lumpur Business Club) and ASLI (Asia Strategic Leadership Institute).

    Dennis has over 17 years of experience in the areas of consulting, business development and served in various capacities both in local and regional roles. His area of involvement includes financial services, telecommunication, manufacturing, supply chain and trading.

    Dennis started his career as a consultant with XyLog Professional Services before moving on to Magnus Management Consultants, Fujitsu Asia, amongst others. Prior to joining InvestKL, he held a regional leadership role at Consona Software.

    Dennis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Information Technology) and a Master in Business Administration (International Finance) from University of North Texas, USA.

    Prior to joining InvestKL, Azmi was with MISC Bhd. He has 16 years of experience in commercial business, business transformation, and business operations offering solutions to customers worldwide in the energy transportation sector.

    His role in the commercial business involves proposing solutions from MNCs to SMEs in Europe, Middle East, and Asia. He was also involved in MISC’s business transformation, and was part of a select team to re-engineer, develop, and commission a global ICT system implemented throughout MISC's offices worldwide.

    Azmi holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

    Vivian has over 15 years of international business experience in both the private and government sectors. She has held various managerial roles in the areas of business development, marketing, and investment acquisition across various vertical industries.

    Prior to joining InvestKL, she has enjoyed roles with organisations such as LexisNexis and Frost & Sullivan, with responsibilities ranging from leading the marketing team for the Southeast Asia region and dealing with large corporate clients.In Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), she was part of the investment acquisition team for North America.

    Vivian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Management) from Towson University, Maryland USA.

    Poised as a driven and charismatic collaborator with 23 years of proven track record spanning the telecoms, technology and internet service sectors, Mah has a comprehensive functional experience in business development and strategy development, including operational execution, business intelligence, brand management and cross-country responsibility for sales and marketing.

    He possesses in-depth market knowledge on Southeast Asia, Indo-China and the Philippines. He also has a robust sense of business acumen with keen focus in Application, Services and Digital New Media, particularly on ‘Over the Top’ (OTT) delivery business strategy for convergence technologies.

    Mah started his career as an account manager with Alcatel Malaysia before taking on regional roles within the Alcatel organisation throughout ASEAN. Prior to joining InvestKL, he was the Head of Innovation at TIME dotCom.

    Peggy has over 18 years of working experience from various fields, spanning public relations, corporate communications, to bancassurance. She built the first part of her career as a Public Relations Consultant, designing and implementing strategic communication programs for well-known corporations such as Canon, Oracle, Resorts World Bhd & BOH Plantations.

    Subsequently, she moved from a communication specialist to an all-rounder in the bancassurance industry, where she was responsible for sales management, strategic planning, product marketing, training & channel support. She was instrumental in forming the ING Insurance-Public Bank (now AIA-Public) strategic partnership.

    Peggy holds a Bachelor of Communication from Pittsburg State University, Kansas, USA.

    Michael was appointed the Director and Team Lead of Strategy, Advisory and Services in March 2017, responsible for driving large multinational investments into Greater Kuala Lumpur. Michael brings with him over 30 years of corporate leadership and management experience mainly in the Asia Pacific countries. He has been instrumental in pioneering the start-up, operations and restructuring of entrepreneurial, regional and multinational organisations, across a variety of industries including telcos, financial services, energy & utilities, manufacturing, and the public sector.

    Michael’s career path also includes experience with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the NTT Group, Fujitsu, LogicaCMG, the Sampoerna Group, the Keppel T&T Group, Wang, 3Com, and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). He has also contributed his expertise more broadly through his past senior corporate leadership roles in the Southeast Asia region. Currently, he is also an adjunct professor at the national university of Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, promoting industry-academia collaboration.

    Michael’s core competence lies in his extensive government and commercial network across the Southeast Asia region, corporate problem-solving skills and opportunity identification matters, people relationship management, and in the formulation and execution of corporate and business strategies.

    Riyadh is legally trained and specializes in corporate and commercial law as well as have been part of numerous cross-border/cross- jurisdictional transactions. After having practiced as an advocate and solicitor for 5 years, he joined Prokhas (a consulting firm of the Ministry of Finance) in 2006 as a management consultant and embarked on 2 major business process reengineering projects, handling contracts negotiation, business analysis and assist in stakeholders’ management.

    Subsequently, Riyadh headed the legal advisory department managing the department’s SOPs, risk reporting, project reporting, business development, client management, providing legal advisory to both profit and cost centres of the company, assisting in matters relating to risk management and also advised the Government of Malaysia on various projects including the Bakun Hydroelectric Dam, the Second Penang Bridge and also the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Project.

    Riyadh holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Malaya and a Masters of Law degree from the University of Warwick.

    Chua Hsui Lin is an accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. She holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University Putra Malaysia and international MBA from the EuropeseHogeschool Brussel.

    To date, she has more than 15 years of experience mainly in corporate recovery, corporate advisory as well as strategic planning and management. Her functional expertise in the course of her career includes business diagnostic review, business process improvement, financing, financial modeling, R&D, benchmarking, strategic business development, risk management and corporate social responsibility, to name a few.

    Her working engagement has enabled her to gain insights into key industries such as hydroelectric power station, public sector education, public sector home loan, corporate investment, land transportation, construction, plantation and ecotourism which will be pivotal to lead the Advisory Team.

    Rosalind is the Head of Special Projects supporting the Strategy, Advisory and Services Group. She is seconded to InvestKL from the Public Service Department. She has about 12 years of experience in the Government sector. She has served The Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and prior to joining the team, she was with the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC).

    Her portfolios include areas in human resource, training and development, maritime safety and security, economic and trade relations, entrepreneurial development and distributive trade.

    She holds a bachelor degree (Computer Science and Information Management) from the University of Central England in Birmingham, UK and a Master in Public Management (Economics and International Trade) from the Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

    Pauline has 19 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. She started her career with Alcatel (public listed MNC) in 1993 as a software engineer and has taken other important local/regional roles in engineering, project management, solutions consultancy and sales within the organization. Her final position in Alcatel-Lucent was a Senior Account Manager for Telekom Malaysia and other telcos.

    In the course of her career, Pauline has been seconded to a few countries namely France, Singapore and Philippines. She was selected to attend the High Potential (2% population) program organized by Alcatel-Lucent (Stretch, Boost) and was part of the top 20 APAC women's list.

    Pauline has joined InvestKL (a government agency mandated to attract large MNCs to set-up their regional operations within Greater KL) since 2012 as Director, Investor Relations for Europe and subsequently moved on to Director, Alliances in 2016.

    She is a board member of SMBA (Swiss Malaysia Business Association) and MBLBC (Malaysia Belgium Luxembourg Business Council). Pauline graduated with Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) from University Science of Malaysia.

    Tim brings  over 25 years of international experience. Prior to joining InvestKL, Tim was the Client Service Director for a boutique local marketing communications agency. He was also the principal consultant for ETS Consulting, a marketing communications consultancy.

    Tim’s vast international experience and exposure from Australasia, Europe to Middle East includes Malaysia, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and Pakistan; across industries such as advertising, telecommunications, tourism & hospitality, food & beverage, construction materials and FMCG.

    Tim holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from La Trobe University, Australia. He is also a certified and registered Trainer under the auspices of Perbadanan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB).

    Tim is also a member of the Malaysia Airlines’ Customer Advocate Group, MH Friends.

    Mathew George heads up the Finance, Admin & Human Resources Department. With over 25 years of international and local experience pning various industries such as oil and gas, and services; Mathew have worked in Seychelles and Dubai.

    In Malaysia, he was formerly attached to KTA Tenaga and various public listed companies such as the Antah Group, Ho Hup Group and Asiana Group of Companies.

    Mathew graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, majoring in Accountancy.
